Welcome

Karla Luna is a full-time Journalism student at San Diego State University. She began her journalistic tendencies in high school, where she worked on the Bonita Vista High School bulletin as a media production assistant and content editor for the school's daily morning agenda. While earning her Associate of Arts in Journalism degree with honors at Southwestern College, she was the Arts Editor of the college newspaper, The Sun. Karla’s published work has won awards from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges, the San Diego SPJ, and the California Journalism Awards. Along with her awards, she has received recognition for excellence in journalism from the San Diego Press Club. 
Throughout her academic career, Karla has focused on topics of arts, music, and culture. She is a bilingual woman of Mexican descent and a legacy student at SDSU. Her skills are well-versed in social media editing and concert photography. She wants to use her journalistic integrity and her voice in the era of multimedia exposure, entertainment, and mass information. While valuing the objective of becoming a successful journalism media professional. She aspires to become a social media manager for a brand, company, band, or musicians one day. In her JMS 430 course, she hopes to learn more about utilizing multimedia programs to engage her future audiences.
