My story has shifted topics. After speaking with both my sources while I pitched my original story idea, they had a lot to say about the struggle of financial instability living in San Diego county as educators. I will be completing my first two interviews next week with a second-grade teacher and an instructional aide, who both work at the San Diego Cooperative Charter School in Linda Vista. I have been researching multiple news stories on this topic and have learned about the Affordable Workforce Housing project, a resolution adopted by the San Diego Unified School District. An inspirational story package I want to emulate is the extra efforts that teachers and educational staff are making to manage their lives in San Diego to keep their jobs.
What I need to do for my story is write out the questions for my interviews, focusing on the main issues of my story topic. I need to find one more person to interview as a source for my story. I would like it to be someone who is informed or involved in the Affordable Workforce Housing project. I am excited to work on the news package I am including on my website to accompany my story. I need help getting in contact with my third source, but I need to do more research to find the best person for this.
